Hello, everyone! We got a new build for you with a couple new features.
Bates has a new move, Fire Pellets, which spawns patterns of flaming bullets. Bates starts using this in Phase 3, and adds new patterns in Phases 4 and 5. It’s a bit buggy in this build, but I should have the jank ironed out next time, and I’ll try to improve the performance as well. By the way, one of these patterns tests your ability to hang in the air longer by using one of Joe’s abilities. Which move do you think it is?
Bates still has more work to be done. We have one last move to add to Bates (Dive Grab), and even more animations. That will come later.
This build introduces a new NPC, Dyabal, and a new environment for him. Take a look!
This build also has its music updated to the mastered soundtrack. Check your music volume levels!
As stated before, we’ll be doing a major sound effects update, which I hope to complete in the coming months. In a future version, I would also like to add an in-game music player to the Gallery.

Hey guys. Hope you’re all doing well. I’m a bit behind due to being sick for a week and a half (fun times). I’d like to give an ETA on the cutscene stuff, but as I’ve come to realize, I’m pretty bad at estimating these animation completion times. I will be sharing more stuff a couple of weeks from now, and by then I should have a much better idea of how much longer Bates cutscenes will take. New features:
- New Boss: Bates!
- You can find and fight Bates in Lood City Park (see further below).
- This is a beta version of Bates. We have most of his moves and sex animations implemented, and you can battle him in a form close to what we have intended. Bates operates a bit differently from normal enemies. For example, when he reaches 100% lust, he is not swooned, but has a defense debuff applied.
- After you beat Bates, go right to read a sign with a special message, and then check the Gallery for all Bates animations unlocked, including a bonus animation! (We couldn’t get it in the battle just yet, but you can see it in the Gallery.)
- We have more in the works for Bates including new and improved attacks, additional sex animations, and a post-defeat cutscene with dialogue. These updates will roll out over the coming months, and we hope you enjoy them!

- This is a small linear area where you fight Bates! The design is subject to change in upcoming updates. We also added a Life Spring Aura to fill your HP and SP!

Improvements & bug fixes:
- Increased default volume for sound effects and lewd sound effects. You may want to reset your audio settings to 100% for proper balance.
- Updated the disclaimer at the start of the game, adding a photosensitivity/epilepsy warning. We try to avoid rapidly flashing lights, but please take precautions.
- Fixed damage numbers to display proper values when stats are modified.
- Sex rhythm meter now has a variable target (min of 15% and max of 75%).
- Sex rhythm meter and power struggle meter have been moved to the bottom of the screen (gameplay HUD).
- Sex rhythm meter’s button prompt will hide quickly.
- Joe’s Crescent Moon special ability will now give him iframes (invulnerability) for the full duration of this move.
- Joe’s Slide and Butt Stomp abilities now have increased recovery time at the end of the moves, and Slide’s distance/speed has been modified.

Known issues:
- Bates is incomplete and has several known issues. These will be rectified in the following updates as we complete our work. Here are the main issues:
- Bates’s attacks have little to no sound effects. What’s there is a placeholder.
- Some of Bates’s attacks are incomplete, and some other moves are absent.
- Joe is able to have sex with Bates while he is downed and invulnerable between phases, though this should not be possible.
- Bates may sometimes move bizarrely or go off screen.
- There are no Bates Game Over animations.
- Defeating Bates abruptly cuts back to normal gameplay with no post-defeat content (aside from the placeholder sign off to the right).
- The Lood City Park environment needs performance optimizations.
- Joe’s Crescent Moon cooldown is irregular.

Ket’s Update:
I’m happy to finally have a version of Bates available to share with you all! I still have more work cut out for me, including bug fixes and creating a bunch of new SFX (I started this a while back but had to refocus on Android).
Speaking of Android, I will be making fixes to that and more in upcoming updates!
Aside from working on Bates, we were able to address a few overdue issues with the core gameplay, such as the variable target on the sex rhythm meter, which makes successive successes both more rewarding and more challenging!
There’s probably more I can say that I’m forgetting now, but I’ll make sure to circle back and address everything mentioned previously. Thank you all for your support! =}

Hey everyone. Hope you are all doing well. Bates current state isn’t final but I hope you guys can enjoy this preview. A bit of the work is not implemented yet such as dialogue, cutscenes, sound work and some missing visual effects. This will require us a couple more months to complete, but it should (mostly) be smooth sailing. I will be posting some previews on the 10th. I’m still tying a couple of loose ends here and there on the battle sprites but I think we’re in a good position for the other stuff too.

- One of our most requested features is here! You can now play Oh So Hero! on your Android phone! We have two builds for this: Standard (x86) and ARM64. See the install guide for details on these builds and help with getting it set up.
- We have added on-screen touch controls and new options for scale and opacity. Please understand there is much room for improvement. The touch controls still need fine tuning. Your feedback will help towards making this better!
- New NPCs: O’Tary, Ajax, Cian, and Foxel!

Here are the changes made since the last patron release (v0.19.100)…
New features:
- New Awakened Status for Bax & Haya, and New Ability for Haya
– Hiroto Dojo is a great place for training and awakening new abilities.
– In a previous update, we made Bax’s moves change when his HP falls to 50% or below. We’ve turned this concept into a new status called Awakened.
– If an enemy can be Awakened, there will be a gray dot to the left of their HP bar. Each enemy type has its own condition for Awakening. When this condition is met, the gray dot will turn into a yellow star, and the enemy’s behavior and moveset will change. Think of this as the enemy’s second phase.
– As said before, Bax will be Awakened at ≤ 50% HP with new moves (same as in previous builds, except now the yellow star will appear).
– Haya will be Awakened at ≥ 50% LP with a new lust-raising ability called Sexy Star (this will have a new taunt animation starting next build).
– We will keep this status in mind for future enemies and may even apply this to existing enemies retroactively as appropriate. Have fun teaching those enemies a lesson!
Improvements & bug fixes:
- Now that Haya has Sexy Star, you’ll have easier access to the sex animation that occurs between Haya and Joe when Joe is at 100% lust.
- Fixed loading to the wrong checkpoint (including after game over).

Known issues:
- Haya’s Sexy Star taunt animation is missing. He is using his standard high throw animation instead. The proper animation will be added next build.
- The Awakened yellow star does not appear immediately when the Awakened condition is met (as it should). Currently it waits until the next available move to be evaluated.
- A loading screen now appears when starting the game (in order to properly load some things that need extra time). If you have Loading Confirmation enabled in the options, this will require you to press the attack key to continue. This will be revisited and revised in a future update.
- When Loading Confirmation is disabled, some scenes start with a camera tween to Joe from another position off screen.
- Some areas have new camera bugs and new enemy activation bugs introduced as a result of ongoing development to level design code.
- All of these issues will be addressed in future builds. Going forward, we will be tracking known issues in the public issue tracker to ensure they are resolved in a timely fashion.

- Due to control changes, key bindings need to be reset if coming from an older version of the game, but they can be re-customized immediately.
- Windows 64-bit: The EXE and data folder have been renamed “OhSoHero.exe” and “OhSoHero_Data” respectively. This is needed for compatibility with Unity Cloud Build.

Cilantro is our lead Music Composer! She has worked with us since before our first public demo, and will now be a regular contributor to Oh So Hero! Cilantro is also known for her work on Cloud Meadow and Chronicles of Acorn.
Red and I both really enjoy Cilantro’s music, so it’s quite a privilege to have her working with us. As development continues, we look forward to getting this game sonically charged with even more great tunes! ;}

Really sorry for the delays. We want to give you guys a look into our plans for the upcoming months regarding Bates and new features but we will need more time. We’re still in the process of figuring certain aspects out and the recent health problems have not helped things.

Android build progress:
- Oh So Hero on Android is looking like a real possibility! We’ve produced an APK (Android build) that is running on a Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
- However, this is currently unplayable because of two key reasons we still need to plan for and address:
- No input methods. The game currently only supports physical keyboard or gamepad. We need to allow control via the touchscreen, and this involves design consideration as well as development. There’s a lot of work to be done here.
- No copied asset bundles. The files holding the animations are not automatically packed into the APK, and thus the build can’t progress past the title screen. We’ll need time to research and develop the simplest means of getting asset bundles on the phone, and with the best possible performance.
- Beyond that, there may be other issues we’ve not been able to see yet. Since we have other priorities right now, including the upcoming release of Pre Edition II, this may not be completed until 2021. However, we’ll keep you updated whenever we have new progress to share!

Hey guys! Here’s a little preview for birb and his assistant boar! Things have been rather slow on the level building side but we’re doing our best to start importing the city assets into the game sooner rather than later!

- 2 New Game Over Animations: Southeast Beach & Brask’s Jungle.
Gameplay changes:
- Joe’s regular attack and combo will only work when Joe is on the ground. We will be adding proper aerial attacks later.
- After an enemy’s KO status (yellow stars) expires, they’re considered “defeated”. But instead of flickering and disappearing, enemies will now remain on screen when defeated. Future development will have their sprites reflect means of defeat (i.e. soaked in cum).
- Various stats such as HP, damage, LP, arousal, etc. have been adjusted on Joe and all enemies for better difficulty balance.
- Example 1: Goliath lick attack takes longer to wind up and deals less LP arousal.
- Example 2: Joe’s slide attack deals far less damage, but still breaks boxes.
- A “Loading Screen Confirmation” option has been added to the Options screen. This controls whether you need to press Confirm after a new area has loaded. The default is “On”, which is good if you wanna watch the randomized loading animation. Turn it “Off” to return to the old-style loading (auto-confirm); good for speedrunners~
- NOTE: First time loading the game will always require confirmation, just as it did before.
